In an energy-intensive and hard-to-decarbonize industry as complex as cement production, digitalization has become essential for operational excellence and sustainability. This transformation involves the development and implementation of a set of tools, including IoT and AI structured on top of a private 5G network (MPN), designed to support the company's operations, enabling much more precise real-time decision-making.

To accelerate digitalization, as mentioned earlier, CIMPOR, in collaboration with Vodafone, Ericsson, starting this initiative in Portugal and extending this project to our plants in Turkey. This advanced network improves operational efficiency, enabling real-time data processing and seamless communication throughout the facility.

Some ongoing digitalization projects: Developed in partnership with the British technology company FIZIX, this innovative project integrates smart sensors with AI-powered software in a cloud-based computer system, specifically designed for heavy industry. The system is intended to remotely monitor the condition and performance of critical equipment, enabling real-time detection of anomalies and proactive interventions before failures occur. The AI-based software analyzes this data, identifying early signs of wear, misalignment, or potential breakdowns.
