We are aware that the business procedures, standards, laws, and regulations may not be guiding in terms of our attitudes and behaviours, so we have prepared the Code of Business Ethics based on our company values.

Anti-Bribery and Corruption

At CIMPOR, we are commited to uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all aspects of our operations. Our Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy reflects our unequivocal stance against bribery, fraud, and any corrupt practices that undermine our core values or jeopardize the trust of our stakeholders.

This policy applies to all employees, affiliates, business partners, and representatives of CIMPOR, ensuring that each individual within our organization adheres to the highest standards of ethical behavior and compliance with applicable laws. Our approach is grounded in a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in any form.

We maintain a steadfast zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption, ensuring its active enforcement among our employees through strict adherence to the applicable Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABC) Law, namely the Portuguese Anti-Corruption Law (Decree-Law No. 109-E/2021, 9 December) and our comprehensive ABC Risk Assessment practices. By obtaining the ISO 37001 Anti Bribery Management System Certification for our Anti-Bribery Management System, we have demonstrated our unequivocal commitment to combating bribery, fraud, 
  2. and all forms of corruption that threaten the core values of our organization or undermine the trust of our stakeholders, in line with internationally recognized standards.Furthemore, in line with the applicable laws and international best practices, we conduct regular ABC Risk Assessment exrecises globally with the relevant stakeholders, resulting in a comprehensive and regulalry updated ABC Risk Control Matrix.

Combining our work and operations with local organizations and authorities as well as with sustainable business models is the kind of future we are striving for. In addition, it is essential to us that our business relations and activities always are performed in line with applicable laws and regulation. 

As part of our ongoing commitment to strong relations with our suppliers, we have decided to formalize our own set of rules to increase transparency and reduce uncertainty about our expectations. Our set of rules, the Supplier Code of Conduct (the Code), is an important part of our cooperation with our suppliers and we find it a natural part of the ongoing dialogue between suppliers and us. The Code is applicable globally and acts as basis for all contractual relations with us.

ISO 37301 & ISO 37001 Certifications

As a result of our commitment to conduct businesses with integrity and in compliance with the best international standards, we obtained the prestigious ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System and ISO 37301 Compliance Management System certifications. 

ISO 37001 facilitates the implementation of an effective anti-bribery and anti-corruption framework, while ISO 37301 ensures that compliance management processes are aligned with international standards. 

Beyond supporting our sustainable growth objectives, we believe these certifications stand as a testament to our management approach, reinforcing trust and confidence among our business partners and stakeholders.

In order to ensure that the requirements of the Compliance Management System are fulfilled, and its effectiveness is continuously improved, and to create a framework for the objectives of the organization, the Compliance Management System Policy has been established, announced to all employees, and made accessible to the relevant parties by being published on the corporate website.

Human Rights

human-rights-policy.jpgAt CIMPOR, we believe that organisations have a responsibility to respect international human rights standards, protect people’s human rights and to address adverse human rights impacts that organisations cause or contribute to. Our commitment to the respect of Human Rights consists in adopting a comprehensive Human Rights Policy and implementing in the long term a structured process to support internationally recognized Human Rights and to avoid any involvement in Human Rights abuses. This Policy sets out CIMPOR’s commitment to protect the fundamental Human Rights, as well as the dignity of the individuals working in its operations, and to promote the respect of all Human Rights within its value chain and business relationships. CIMPOR enforced its journey toward the respect of Human Rights and responsible business practices with the publication and consequent implementation of its Code of Business Ethics and the Supplier’s Code of Conduct.

International Sanction Statement 

sanctions-policy-management.jpgWe are firmly committed to complying with the sanction laws and regulations of the European Union, the United Nations, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, as well as other relevant applicable jurisdictions where CIMPOR operates and trades in. Compliance with the Sanctions is mandatory. The Board of Directors of CIMPOR approved a sanctions policy aimed to ensure compliance with the sanctions and adopted relevant procedures. To facilitate this development, and, as a globally acting enterprise, CIMPOR has adopted this minimum standards which all CIMPORs subsidiaries operating in different regions and jurisdictions must adhere and comply with.
